About Us!
Founded in 2019, Storytellers Dance Co. stood on it's belief that all kids can thrive in dance if they're met with warmth, encouragement, and individual attention.
A studio built on warmth.
Storytellers Dance Co. opened its doors in 2019 with just a few dozen kids, eager to learn and grow. These small class sizes gave us the chance to see the magic that can happen when each kid feels seen and supported, and we've carried that teaching style through our program as we've grown!
In the beginning, we had just a few recreational classes and a competition team of just three dancers! In these early days, we saw how capable kids are not only in becoming strong dancers, but in growing artistically if given the right opportunities. Our dancers progress safely through their technique and stretch their creativity through the lessons on improvisation, choreography, performance quality, and storytelling woven through our classes. Several seasons later, families in Wilmington, Ma, and the surrounding communities trust Storytellers Dance Co. not just to teach their kids to copy steps, but to help them understand movement, think creatively, and feel safe and empowered enough to challenge themselves inside and outside of the classroom! At SDC, your dancer is a human first, dancer second, no matter how intensively they choose train!

Creativity
We bring creativity into the classroom not just through dancing, but in how we teach. We believe that each dancer learns differently, and we adjust our approach to reach every student, while remaining grounded in safe practices for growing bodies and minds. Dance is for EVERYONE and we'll find a way for each dancer to have success in our classroom!
Empathy
Every dancer is a storyteller, and we believe in teaching our students to hold their stories and the stories of others with care. Our dancers learn to treat their fellow dancers with kindness and respect, building long-lasting friendships and creating an atmosphere that encourages trying and failing and trying again.
Artistry
Dancers are artists AND athletes. Our dancers learn more than just technique; they learn the skills to bring their stories to life, and make an audience feel something, whether they're telling important stories through dance or just spreading joy through movement!
